This article written by Henry Samuel is based on a survey of the Europeans´ opinion about the French people. It seems that they are not really appreciated by their neighbours, but this point of view is denied by the French.
Their neighbours find them the most unsociable people of the world. They are also said to drive dangerously, to have an obsession for sex and food, and not to be friendly with good manners concerning the customer service.
The points of view on French are different according to the nationality of the person interrogated. Effectively, British people see them as stubborn, chauvinists and humourless, whereas the Dutch feature them as agitated, talkative and shallow. However, the critics are globally negative.
What strikes the French is that other Europeans have not noticed any positive characteristic about them.
Finally, Mr Clodong affirms that the whole Europe is aware of the beauty of France, and it´s just its inhabitants who are criticized.
Second article
This article deals with the way people are seeing beauty. Criteria of beauty are promoted by the medias, such as the hair style or the way of dressing. They sometimes exaggerate since it is noticeable that some people are incited to change their look to resemble a personnality or the model image they communicate. This leads to the intense use of beauty products, treatments and plastic surgery.
The perception of beauty is different according to the society you belong to. Effectively, the western people focus on the boobs, Asians are most attracted by roundy eyes whereas South Americans pay more attention to the thickness of the girls´ buttocks.
